The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha has raised the alarm that fraudsters were using his office to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
He warned the public to be wary of those criminals.
The admonition was contained in a statement signed yesterday by Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Willie Bassey.
In the statement, the SGF disclaimed originating the messages circulating on the social media through emails, text messages and other outlets urging members of the public to submit their Curriculum Vitae at a fee, to a non-existing desk at the OSGF, to facilitate their selection for various federal government appointments.

Willie Bassey, director of information at the SGF office, released a statement to this effect on Tuesday.
The SGF was quoted as saying that an advertisement on social media asking applicants to pay for a job is fake.
“The information circulating on the social media through emails, text messages, urging members of the public to submit their CVs at a fee, to a non-existing desk at the SFG’s office for appointments is false,” the statement reads.

Mustapha also said his office did not advertise for the procurement of medical diagnostic equipment.
“The SGF has also observed with dismay, that such fraudsters have become so desperate to such an extent that they resort to sending fake advertisements for supply of some medical diagnostic equipment to his office,” he said.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has joined others to celebrate the Nigerian media on the occasion of the World’s Press Freedom Day.
In a statement signed yesterday on his behalf by the Director, Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Willie Bassey, the SGF acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian media in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
He stated that journalists made sacrifices in filing reports day and night, particularly, at the outset of the pandemic in which press briefings were held by the then Presidential Task Force on daily basis.

This reporter deliberately exposed himself to cold for four days and came down with symptoms similar to those of coronavirus – cough, headache, runny nose and fever – and presented himself for testing at some public laboratories in the city but officials at the laboratories declined to test him.
