Wilmington, Blanchester schools host vaxx clinics for ages 12+

WILMINGTON The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Monday children 12 to 15 years old were eligible to get Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, and by Thursday afternoon an on-site clinic was held for that age group at the Wilmington Middle School cafeteria.
About 102 students were registered, with parental consent, to receive the first dose of the vaccination Thursday. The recommended timing for the second dose is three weeks after the first shot, and though the school year will be over by then Wilmington City Schools (WCS) will open up its middle school building so students can go there and look forward to being fully vaccinated.

WILMINGTON, MA A Wilmington High School student was named a National Merit Scholar Wednesday.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced 2,500 winners of $2,500 scholarships Wednesday.
They included Miriam Nelson, a Wilmington resident and Wilmington High School student. Nelson s probable career field is economics.

CCHD announces walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations next week

WILMINGTON – The Clinton County Health District (CCHD) is hosting Walk-In Clinics for COVID-19 vaccinations (Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer brands) on the campus of Southern State Community College (SSCC) in Wilmington the week of May 10.

YOUNGSTOWN Amy Abranovich, 53, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 12, 2021, at her home.
Amy was born Feb. 4, 1968, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, was a daughter of Nick and Tressa Abranovich and had lived in the Youngstown area for about 20 years.
She was a graduate of New Wilmington High School in Pennsylvania, and she spent her life creating a home for her beloved husband, Larry and daughter, Renay.
Amy never lost her childhood wonder of life, and she enjoyed gardening and reading. She took in wandering cats and would give them a home. “Bisquit” and “Scottie” will be looking for her in the days ahead as Amy’s family moves through their grief.
