Port Authority welcomes SBDC advisor Buckner; recognizes Fifth Annual #SBDCDay Buckner WILMINGTON For over 40 years the America’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has helped millions of men, women, veteran, and minority entrepreneurs and other small business owners start and grow their businesses. Totaling nearly 1,000 locations across the country, SBDCs are in every community providing local businesses and entrepreneurs with the resources needed to succeed. The Clinton County Port Authority is pleased to welcome James Buckner a new Business Advisor with the Miami University SBDC (MUSBDC) to the Port Authority team. The timing of Buckner’s arrival coincides with the fifth annual SBDC Day on March 17.

Ohio expands COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to 40 and over, some others Ohio s eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines will expand this week to people 40 and older and those with additional medical conditions, including cancer and obesity, Gov. Mike DeWine announced at a news conference Tuesday morning in Cleveland. And by the end of the month, all Ohioans 16 and older will be eligible to get the vaccine. Eligibility starts Friday for about 766,000 Ohioans in Phase 1E, which includes those 16 and older with cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease and obesity. Friday also marks the start of Phase 2C those 40 and older, including about 818,000 Ohioans between age 40 and 49.

Mike DeWine has announced an additional 15 coronavirus mass vaccination sites in Ohio, on top of the site already announced for Cleveland. Until now, Ohio vaccinations have largely been lower-scale. People have received them at hospitals, clinics, health departments and retail pharmacies. The first mass vaccination site, scheduled to open March 17 in Cleveland, is expected to be operated for up to 6,000 people a day to get shots. “There’s always been a plan to increase that with some mass vaccination sites,” DeWine said during his announcement at Cleveland State University on Friday afternoon.
