FBI makes 4th Houston-area arrest in Capitol riot

HOUSTON – The FBI has arrested a fourth person in the Houston area in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Shane Jenkins, 43, was arrested Friday morning at his northwest Houston home, according to the FBI. He now faces several charges stemming from the Jan. 6 insurrection that led to the death of five people, including a police officer.
According to federal court documents, Jenkins is charged with assault on a federal officer, obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, damage to federal property, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds and two counts of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.

Wilmar Montano Alvarado was arrested in relation to the January 6 breach of the Capitol, where rioters clashed with police officers. Five people, including a U.S. Capitol police officer, died. New arrests were made and federal charges were filed following the storming of the Capitol by a mob of President Donald Trump s supporters.

HOUSTON - A Houston man has been arrested in connection to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
According to FBI Houston, Wilmar Montano Alvarado was arrested. He is scheduled to be in federal court on Friday afternoon.
He is the third Houston-area resident arrested by the FBI in connection to the events at the U.S. Capitol.
New arrests were made and federal charges were filed following the storming of the Capitol by a mob of President Donald Trump s supporters.
Federal court records show Alvarado was charged with five counts, including violent entry or disorderly conduct; assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees; and obstruction of an official proceeding.
According to charging documents, Alvarado admitted during an interview after the riot with a TV station to going to Washington to protest because he believed election fraud may have compromised his vote. In the interview, Alvarado stated he was at the edge of the Capitol building barricade during the chaos when others pushed past it. He joined in.
