HOLLYWOOD, CA The Actors Fund Thursday broke ground on the forthcoming Hollywood Arts Collective, which seeks to be a communal living and working space for aspiring artists. The $120 million facility will include 151 affordable housing units for artists, along with art galleries, rehearsal studios, and non-profit office space.
The development will also include an 86-seat Glorya Kaufman Theater, named after the philanthropist who has also funded arts programs at USC, UCLA and the Julliard School. The Actors Fund expects the project to be open and in operation by 2024.

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - A 23-year-old suspected drunk driver was arrested for allegedly running away from a hit-and-crash in Hollywood that left another motorist with severe injuries, authorities said today.
Jonathan Watts of Texas was driving a white BMW sedan that went through an intersection at Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday and struck a black Nissan, according to Lt. Raul Jovel of the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The driver of the Nissan was transported to a local hospital where he is still being treated for severe injuries, Jovel said. “The driver fled the scene on foot, but was subsequently arrested.

MUSKEGON, MI – The roundabout at Pere Marquette beach will be closed Monday as city crews perform work to get ready for an art piece that will be placed there.
Westbound Lakeshore Drive traffic will be detoured on Dec. 21 so that crews can remove sand and place large boulders in the roundabout.
Westbound Lakeshore traffic to Beach Street will be detoured at Cottage Grove to Resort Avenue and then onto Beach Street, through the kiteboard parking lot and then onto Beach Street at Wilcox Avenue, according to a notice from the City of Muskegon.
