Guwahati (Assam) [India], May 12 (ANI): In view of rising COVID-19 cases, the Assam government on Wednesday announced stricter restrictions that come into force from May 13 till further orders.
According to an official order issued by the Assam government, the curbs will come into effect from 5 am on May 13 till further orders.
All shops, eateries including dine-in will be allowed till 1 pm, and only home delivery will be allowed after 1 pm.
The weekly markets will remain shut for 15 days.
The order read, Pharmacies, Hospitals, Animal Care Centers and Veterinary clinics may operate without restrictions being providers of essential and emergency services.

Whereas, the positivity rate of C0VID-19 cases in the urban and adjacent areas has shown a significant surge in the COV/D -19 cases during the last few days and requires stricter COVID containment measures.

Booking of SOP Violators in Assam: Assam Police DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta on May 12 said that if anyone is found violating the COVID-19 SOP/guidelines, strict actions including attempt to murder case will be registered against such violators.
Addressing a press meet the Assam DGP asked the people of Assam to strictly follow all the rules of the new SOP. Further, the DGP said, Reports are coming of people closing shops from the front and working from inside, such shopkeepers will be in deep trouble and booked under DDMA act.
If somebody is found organizing a private function, party, violating the SOP those will be like a betrayal against the society and they will be booked under Attempt to murder like charges.
