PAWTUCKET – Faced with continued problems with the city’s 13-year-old animal shelter, City Councilor Mark Wildenhain is seeking a full review of the facility as officials try to get the building to a satisfactory place.
Wildenhain, chairman of the Animal Control Committee, has scheduled a meeting tonight, Feb. 24, for a “discussion regarding facility deficiencies at the animal shelter and possible funding options to make improvements.”
Previous efforts to hold the manufacturer of the shelter’s crumbling roof shingles accountable came up short after Pawtucket retrieved only $5,000, said Wildenhain. That amount was reached because the city did end up getting 10 years of life on a 15-year shingle.
