Connor McCarthy scored twice in UNC s big win.
One team was playing its third game while the other was playing its first. On Sunday afternoon, what one might think would be an obvious advantage given a 10-plus month layoff due to COVID-19 was a non-factor.
No. 6 North Carolina, in its first game of the season, was relentless. The Tar Heel ride was vigorous, forcing visiting No. 7 Denver, playing its third game this spring and second game of the weekend, into 15 turnovers. Even when it cleared successfully, Denver was left scrambling to regroup and settle down the offense.

The opposite of gratitude is complaint. Habitual complaining creates a negative environment in which it is difficult to experience God s peace. Several years ago pastor Will Bowen challenged his congregation in Kansas City, Missouri, to wear purple bracelets as a way of monitoring their efforts to eliminate the habit of complaining from their lives. Since then, his organization, A Complaint Free World, has distributed nearly six million of these bracelets to people worldwide. Bowen challenges people to break their habit of complaining by placing a bracelet on their wrist. Every time they complain, they are to switch the bracelet to the other wrist. The goal is to go for twenty-one days without needing to switch the bracelet. It s gimmicky, but several people attested to the effectiveness of this simple idea.

So, Christmas is over. But our festive rituals continue. There’s the decades-old ‘leftover surprise’ tradition whereby Tupperware boxes containing drying turkey are pushed to the back of ye olde fridge and forgotten until Twelfth Night. There’s the practice of investing in expensive high-vis Lycra for various sporting endeavours that will never come to pass. And, of course, the folkloric rite of repackaging unwanted gifts (flammable nylon jumpers with reindeer noses) and sending them back whence they came in exchange for something you might actually use (leggings).
