EU News The EU and Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement enters into force The European Union-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) today entered into force. It has now been ratified by the Republic of Armenia, all EU Member States and the European Parliament. This represents an important milestone for EU-Armenia relations. This Agreement provides a framework for the EU and Armenia to work together in a wide range of areas: strengthening democracy, the rule of law and human rights; creating more jobs and business opportunities, improving legislation, public safety, a cleaner environment, as well as better education and opportunities for research. This bilateral agenda also contributes to overall aim of the EU to deepen and strengthen its relations with the countries of its Eastern neighbourhood through the Eastern Partnership framework.

HR resource portal to cover comprehensive training resources Islamabad February 28, 2021 Islamabad: The Human Right Resource Portal will cover comprehensive training resources that will provide online material which will be beneficial for human rights practitioners and personnel. Talking to APP the Secretary Ministry of Human rights informed that training resources would cover a range of topics such as Pakistan’s International Human Rights Obligations and Human Rights Data Collection and Documentation for the benefit of rights practitioner as well as researchers. He further said that these custom training resources aims at enhancing capacity of the judiciary, prosecution, and law enforcement agencies.

India, Mauritius sign Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement

Economy > Trade 26 February 2021 India on Tuesday signed a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) with Mauritius, which is also the first trade agreement signed by India with an African nation.  The agreement is limited in scope, covering areas like trade in goods, rules of origin, trade in services, technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, dispute settlement, movement of natural persons, telecom, financial services, customs procedures and cooperation in other areas.  Commerce secretary Anup Wadhawan and Ambassador Haymandoyal Dillum, secretary of foreign affairs, regional integration and international trade, Government of Mauritius signed the CECPA  in Port Louis on Monday in the presence of Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth, and India’s external affairs minister S Jaishankar.

EUSA Pharma: SYLVANT (siltuximab) Recommended by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) as the Preferred Treatment Option for Patients with Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease (iMCD) regardless of histopathologic subtype

(1) EUSA Pharma (UK) Limited ( EUSA Pharma ), a global biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology and rare diseases, announced that the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN ) for B-Cell Lymphomas to include siltuximab (SYLVANT ) as the preferred primary treatment for patients with human immunodeficiency virus-negative [HIV(-)] and human herpesvirus 8-negative [HHV-8(-)] multicentric Castleman disease (MCD), also known as idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD), regardless of histopathologic subtype. 1 Siltuximab is currently approved in more than 40 countries worldwide for the treatment of all histopathologic subtypes of iMCD, a rare, life-threatening and debilitating orphan condition of the lymph nodes and related tissues. 2,3 The update is based on a 2020 publication which demonstrated that there is insufficient evidence to guide treatment based solely on lymph node histopathologic subtype.
