SURAT: The special ACB judge in Tapi district rejected the bail plea of police constable Anil Dambhelkar who was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding Rs 25,000 in the 2018 bribery case The judge observed that the purpose of the Prevention of Corruption Act is to keep corrupt officials away from the public offices at the earliest. He said that the corruption has become villain for the development of the country. Dambhelkar, now posted at Vyara police station in Tapi district, was booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and arrested on December 15 for the offence.
