domestic airlines to suspend flights to
and from airports in several southern cities and provinces that are under
social distancing measures from July 19.
Specifically, all flights to and from Con Dao in Ba Ria – Vung Tau,
Ca Mau, Rach Gia in Kien Giang province will be halted from 0am on July 19.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will still run a daily
flight linking Phu Quoc and Hanoi and another on Can Tho-Hanoi route.
Bamboo Airways will operate Phu Quoc-Hanoi and Can Tho – Hanoi flights
only on July 19, each one trip per day, in place of Vietnam Airlines.

HCM City tightens management in quarantine areas to limit cross-infection of COVID-19
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested Ho Chi Minh City continue to tighten management to prevent cross-infection of COVID-19 in quarantine and sealed-off areas at an online briefing of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on July 17.
Dam, who is also head of the committee, urged the city to strengthen transport of newly-infectious cases to treatment facilities, especially those with worsening symptoms.
HCM City needs to ensure the supply of essential goods and food to stabilise people s lives and encourage people to share the immediate difficulties to strictly comply with social distancing regulations, he added

Over 425 million tonnes of cargo handled at seaports in seven months

The total volume of cargo handled at Vietnamese seaports is estimated to reach more than 425 million tonnes in the first seven months of2021, up 6 percent over the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Maritime Administration (VMA).
Of the figure, export cargo hit over 106 million tonnes, a year-on-yearincrease of 9 percent, while import cargo stood at roughly 133 million tonnes,up 2 percent. The handling of domestic goods neared 184 million tonnes, up 7percent year-on-year.
