New state lawsuits targeting polluters in NJ
The state filed lawsuits Friday targeting polluters. The unrelated complaints, seven in all, concern the unlawful discharge and storage of hazardous chemicals by dry cleaners, automotive repair and filling stations, a clothing factory among others.
The complaints, according to a press release from Attorney General Gurbir Grewal’s office, “involve actual or threatened impacts on New Jersey residents, including chemical vapors that have intruded into residential dwellings, and chemical contamination of potable water supplies used for drinking and other daily needs by homeowners and, in one case, a church and church daycare center.”
