The United States (US) is funding two separate agriculture projects in the Philippines with combined investment of P1.6 billion.
In a letter to Philippine Agriculture Secretary William Dar, US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Thomas J. Vilsack said his agency is committed to making “historic investments” in the agriculture sector not just in the US but also in other countries like the Philippines.
This was in response to Dar’s letter congratulating Vilsack for his appointment as the USDA chief. In the letter, Dar also urged for “strengthening collaborative efforts between the Philippines and the US on agricultural trade, technical cooperation, and other partnership opportunities.”
Rid Litter Day is tomorrow
The Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce is inviting businesses and community members to participate in Rid Litter Day on Tuesday, April 27. The Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Keep America Beautiful and Keep Arkansas Beautiful for the Great American Cleanup event. CEO and Executive Director of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce Bethany Hildebrand said anyone in Stuttgart can participate.
“We will be out taking pictures from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., but we encourage anyone to participate at any time of day that works for you. You can decide what area you would like to clean up. We have businesses who just sign up to pick up around their area. We have civic organizations that will sign up to clean up the main streets. We want to encourage everyone to get out and help us clean up Stuttgart,” Hildebrand said.
