WINNIPEG Winnipeg police officers have charged a 33-year-old man in connection to indecent acts and sexual assaults that took place during the month of April on a transit bus and at a Winnipeg mall. According to police, the first incident took place on April 4, when an unknown man committed an indecent act in front of a female passenger on a Winnipeg Transit bus. Officers added that this indecent act was also within eyesight of other passengers. Then, on April 20, police said a female shopper at St. Vital Mall had her buttocks grabbed by an unknown man. Officers allege a short time later, a second female shopper had her buttocks grabbed as well.
The Manitoba government is reporting a number of potential COVID-19 exposures at various sites in Winnipeg, including at a restaurant and on a number of Winnipeg Transit buses.

Council cast a final 15-1 vote Thursday evening, to approve the proposal that will cost up to $1.5 billion, redraw nearly all existing bus routes, create a network of six rapid transit corridors, and add electric buses to the fleet over the next 25 years. (The) master plan really does provide a road map for Winnipeg Transit to modernize and make long-needed improvements, said Mayor Brian Bowman.

With tougher public health orders set to drop at midnight, Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman is cautioning residents against last-minute gatherings and other risky activities that could spread COVID-19.
In the last seven days Winnipeg has added over 1000 new cased of COVID-19, Bowman said in a news conference on Tuesday. The current test positive rate in Winnipeg is 8.4%. The test positive rate a month ago was 3.3%. There have been 2435 new COVID-19 cases in Winnipeg over the last month.
