La nuit n est finalement pas forcément synonyme de désillusion pour la délégation française à Tokyo. Premier temps fort de ce samedi 31 juillet, l épreuve du relais mixte a vu les triathlètes tricolores décrocher la médaille de bronze, la quatorzième breloque de la France depuis le début des Jeux olympiques de Tokyo. Léonie Périault, Dorian Coninx, Cassandre Beaugrand et Vincent Luis sont progressivement revenus sur la tête de course pour décrocher la toute première médaille du triathlon français aux JO, derrière la Grande-Bretagne et les Etats-Unis.
