Limerick Council to waive fees and add additional space for outdoor dining to support businesses this summer

Limerick City and County Council is set to waive fees for licences for outdoor dining and street events as part of a number of initiatives unveiled by the local authority to support businesses as they prepare to re-open this summer.
The Council will also be installing buildouts which will increase footpath widths to allow for greater capacity for outside dining in the city and across the county.

ONE of Limerick’s most impressive businesses, Odyssey Studios, has been announced as a finalist in this year’s National Enterprise Awards.
The awards, an initiative of the Local Enterprise Office, will take place virtually on February 11.
Odyssey Studios, which was set up in 2017, will compete against 29 other national finalists for a prize fund totaling €50,000.
The state of the art model making studio based on the Dock Road and is one of the largest permanent model making studios in Europe.

TRIADELPHIA Two men passing through on Interstate 70 were arrested on multiple felony charges last week due to allegedly transporting several illicit substances across state lines.
On Dec. 23, West Virginia State Police officers stopped a car allegedly going 73 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone near Triadelphia. When the driver, Patrick Pitner, 34, of Denver, Colorado, was being ticketed, he allegedly told police that he had a pair of THC vape pen cartridges in the car, which prompted a more thorough search. The passenger, Vincent Murray, 31 of Indian Head, Maryland, later told police that he had driven to Denver to pick Pitner up and bring him back to Maryland.
