Two Brandon-area schools have reported new cases of COVID-19 this week.
Public Health officials advised Vincent Massey High School on Tuesday that another student/staff member had tested positive for COVID-19, which marks the fifth case the institution has reported this month.
According to a news release from the Brandon School Division, this recently confirmed case was discovered in a Grade 12 class and that the individual in question may have been infectious while attending the school on Dec. 9.
However, BSD Supt. Marc Casavant said in this release that the infection was not believed to be acquired at school and that Public Health officials assessed this exposure to be low risk.
