Price hikes, longer delivery deadlines, shortages: European beauty packaging manufacturers are sounding the alarm about the situation in the plastics markets. While logistics chains remain weakened by the pandemic, the strong recovery in Asia has caused a significant imbalance. Polymer producers, who had reduced their activity during lockdown periods, had concurrently increased their declarations of force majeure , as a result of bad weather conditions or industrial accidents. While the likelihood of having to stop some lines due to a lack of material seems to have been avoided for the time being, packaging manufacturers warn that there is a complete lack of market visibility.
