Noakes said on one occasion someone took pictures in his lecture theatre. There was someone I did not recognise in the room and that person was pointing a phone around and taking pictures of the slides, he said. It made me incredibly uncomfortable and I followed it up afterwards. I ve not seen that person again.
Catherine Churchman, who teaches ancient Chinese history at Victoria University in Wellington, said she had received similar attention.
In 2017, while teaching a Chinese history class, a man she thought was a student upbraided her about her lecture content. I looked at him and I thought, What are you actually [doing] in my class anyway? And he said, I m, I m a visiting scholar. And I said, well, you re not supposed to be here .

The police who turned up at International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) wore plain clothes. They discreetly presented the warrant, asked for USB sticks and entered the general manager s office. But it s hard to fly under the radar in a country as small as New Zealand. An IANZ staff member recognised one of the men ferreting through Phillip Barnes stuff as a cop, and soon a story was doing the rounds at the Crown entity s Auckland headquarters.

What actually is it? Is it really that important? Can I even do anything about it?

What is the Budget?
In simple terms, the Parliamentary Budget (with a capital B) is just like a household budget (lower case b) on a larger scale.
It s an assessment of how much money the government has - taking into account debt, and income from tax and other things - and sets out the things the government plans to spend that money on.

New Zealand gun control before 15 March 2019
The history of New Zealand s firearms control began with the Arms Ordinance of 1845, and was followed by The Arms Act 1860 which referred to cutlasses, pikes, warlike stores and the legality of keeping 10 pounds weight of gunpowder .
Those were followed by laws on importation of firearms in 1908 and 1920, which included a police gun register, until another law change in 1958.
