Lewis Wilkins Drug dealer Lewis Wilkins spat at and bit police officers following his arrest for stealing a wallet from a clubber in Newport city centre. He “adopted a fighting stance” after he
pickpocketed James Phillips as his victim was leaving The Courtyard at around 4am. Wilkins, of Dolphin Court, Pill, Newport, pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, theft and assaulting police officers. The 27-year-old was jailed for three years and eight months.

Marcus Reynolds was locked up after he was caught selling dope while riding on his mountain bike in the Maesglas area of Newport. • Prosecutor Lowri Wynn Morgan told Cardiff Crown Court how he arrested when he was cycling along Winchester Close. The defendant, of Maesglas Close, Newport, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply cannabis and acquiring criminal property.

Mr Donoghue told Cardiff Crown Court: “He then exited the vehicle and went towards a shop. He stood outside and was on his mobile phone. “The defendant was carrying a man bag and inside was £350 in cash, a Nokia mobile phone, a burner phone primarily used for drug dealing, 22 snap bags of cannabis, an iPhone and two bags of white powder which was later identified as cocaine.
The defendant had more than £5,000 in cash at home “He was arrested in the middle of the village around 100 metres from the local school where a large group of people had gathered.” The incident happened during term time, the court heard.
