The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility at mass-vaccination sites for the general population aged 55 and older.
They say adults aged 55 years and older in 2021, born in 1966 or earlier, will be able to register to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at one of the vaccination sites to receive a first dose at a mass-vaccination site:

Previously adults aged 55 to 59, not in other priority groups, were only able to book an appointment if they lived in one of the area’s hot spot postal codes, or through a pharmacy (AstraZeneca).
WINDSOR, ONT. There’s been another age drop for overall COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in Windsor-Essex. As of Thursday, adults 55 years and older will be able to register to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
The Ontario government released an anticipated schedule on Thursday to expand eligibility to receive the vaccine throughout May, with individuals aged 18 and older eligible to book as early as the week of May 24. All COVID-19 vaccination appointments at targeted vaccination clinics are currently for first doses only and must be scheduled through a single dedicated online booking system and can also be accessed from wevax.ca or by calling the vaccination booking call centre at 226-773-2200.
