PML-N Quaid asks Shehbaz to join AJK polls campaign

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has asked party president Shehbaz Sharif to join the campaign for Azad Kashmir legislature elections, being held on July 25. Earlier, party’s vice president Maryam Nawaz was made sole in charge of the electioneering, and she will continue to hold the assignment.  Sources in the PMLN told The News on Monday that the rival parties had already intensified their campaign through certain tactics, and the PMLN Quaid and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif discussed the situation with the party leaders in Azad Kashmir including Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and Minister Mushtaq Minhas before engaging Shehbaz Sharif for the campaign.

Bilawal asks PM to give 3-year record instead of giving lecture

It would be foolish to accept US arbitration on Kashmir: AJK PM

July 1, 2021 ISLAMABAD: AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan Wednesday said that it would be foolish for Pakistan to ask the US to arbitrate on the Kashmir issue with India. “The government of Pakistan cannot take matters like this after India’s usurpation of occupied Kashmir on August 5,” said Haider. He said that the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir will be fought against the agenda of partition of Kashmir. AJK premier, who was flanked by his cabinet members, and party members, announced to stay away from the scheduled briefing on national security on July 1 as a protest.
