Q. Last year we booked a holiday to Spain, sailing with Brittany Ferries so we could take our caravan. But due to lockdown, we postponed until September. I then suffered a minor stroke, so we postponed again until this May. However, I am 82 and worried about my health, and we have now sold our caravan. If we cancel the ferries, we will lose £1,138. Can you help?

Q. This may sound like a pipedream, but we’d like to go backpacking in South-East Asia when travel is possible. Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand are likely candidates, but I expect they could be off the Government ‘travel corridor’ list. Is insurance offered for such an adventure?

Q. We visited Kefalonia in Greece in 2019 and were intrigued by the neighbouring island of Ithaca. We want to book a package this summer. Any tips?

Ithaca is known for its secluded beaches and charming villages
A. Ithaca, the mythical home of Odysseus, is a peaceful island with secluded beaches and charming villages. You fly to Kefalonia and catch a ferry or water taxi across. If you book with a tour operator and have to cancel because of travel restrictions, you will be due a full refund within 14 days. Try sunvil.co.uk or olympicholidays.com.
