Hereford cattle are renowned for their ability to grow and finish off grass and can therefore produce sustainable beef The Hereford Cattle Society has become the first to work to prove its breed’s sustainable merits to the wider beef industry, retailers, food industry and the consumer. The news comes during Great British Beef Week (23-30 April), is a project connected to the UK Cattle Sustainability Platform and the European Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. Hereford cattle are renowned for their ability to grow and finish off grass. With the environment becoming increasingly important for every stage of the beef supply chain, the society is seeking to cement some of the benefits of the breed.

Cows have been tail painted as an aid to monitor activity. This will be an important aid throughout the breeding season.
Breeding is due to commence on Newford Farm on Wednesday 21 April and 100% AI will be used again in 2021.
The farm has recently finalised its sire selection for this season and details of sires selected can be found in Table 1.
A number of sires return to the team in 2021, with Fiston and Hideal used the most in 2020.
Selection criteria
There is no bias among breeds, with sires selected following an analysis of sires available carried out by Michael Fagan of Teagasc.

The Irish agency’s Julian O’Brien and MPI Artists’ USA partner Nabil Ghebre have brokered a five-year deal for US rapper Snoop Dogg’s touring rights outside of the US and Canada. The deal was signed with worldwide event producer and venue operator TEG MJR and its CEO Richard Buck.
O’Brien, MPI and TEG are set to work together touring Snoop internationally for the next five years. O’Brien and Ghebre will work with Robert Dreislen, AKA Bobby D, and Uncle Snoop’s Army throughout the five-year term as Snoop’s international agents.
