The Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India (PFNDAI) has conducted a webinar on Connecting Responsibility with Consumers. The seminar was focussed on Advertising and Claims Regulations: Bridging the gap between industry and consumers.
Zafar Khan, head, scientific affairs and regulatory affairs, Mondelez International, spoke about advertisement/claim, why advertisement needed: business objective, claim entry and impact, validations of impact of claims and regulatory framework.
Speaking about the importance of advertising, he said, âAwareness about the existing product and launch of a new product ensures that the right product information reaches the customer. Brand awareness also plays an important role as people should be aware about the brand and development. Advertising also helps in building brand loyalty and helps in increasing sales.ââ

The Department of Agriculture Marketing and Agri Business in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, has established six primary processing centres for bananas. Five such centres have been set up for onions in the district under Supply Chain Management Scheme.
The department has already called for tenders and interested Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) or joint venture companies to bid for the same before January 20, 2021.
Officials stated that two of the centres are meant for bananas which are located at Manachanallur and M.Puthur, four primary processing centres are established at Manachanallur, Thathaiyangarpet, Uppiliyapuram (South) and P.K.Agaram which have already been handed over to FPOs and the organisation is functional.
