KDHE names 43 of 346 active coronavirus outbreaks in Kansas. Here are the locations Jason Tidd, The Wichita Eagle Jan. 20 Kansas public health officials on Wednesday reported 346 active coronavirus clusters in the state, but named only 43 locations. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment s weekly cluster update on Wednesday showed five more active outbreaks of COVID-19 than last week. It was the first increase in statewide active clusters since Thanksgiving. The 346 active clusters account for 14,240 cases, 565 hospitalizations and 622 deaths. Clusters are generally defined as two or more cases of COVID-19 with a common place and time, but the state health agency only names locations with five or more cases within the current two-week period. Home-based daycares and private events are excluded due to privacy concerns.

INTRUST Bank Arena to allow limited number of fans for Wichita Thunder games INTRUST Bank Arena has announced that Wichita Thunder home games will be played with a limited number of fans, starting with their home opener on January 1st. The arena will have a number of health and safety measures to protect against the spread of COVID-19, and the Sedgwick County Health Department provided guidance in developing the steps that will be taken throughout the building. The arena will allow 11.5 percent capacity for Thunder games.  There will be six-foot seating distance between groups of fans, face masks will be required, there will be contactless and self-service ticket scanning and concession purchases.    There will also be social distancing signage and plexiglass barriers at point-of-sale locations, along with strict procedures for hygiene and disinfection.   The arena will also have a clear bag policy for all events.  Each ticketed guest can carry one large clear bag, plus a sm
