Eastern Shore healthcare systems say they are ready for delta variant-Urge Vaccinations

SALISBURY, MD- Cases of the Delta Variant of Covid19 are rising across the US, but here on the Eastern shore, cases remain low.
Doctors and healthcare systems are attributing this lack of cases as a lag time of spread, caused by the eastern shore’s rural layout.
“Being a rural environment actually has a little bit of protection because we don’t have the close proximity in interaction that people do in more urban areas,” said VP of Integration at Tidal Health Dr. James Trumble.
Dr.Trumble believes that the delta variant will eventually come to the Eastern Shore.

MARYLAND.- The State of Emergency Governor Hogan declared last March is officially over, and pandemic protections are also set to expire.
“There are going to be people that need the additional assistance and I think the state of Maryland is equipped to do that on a case by case basis but eventually these things have to end,” said President of Salisbury Chamber of Commerce Bill Chambers.
That’s the response from some experts, as the end is near for pandemic protections that kept many afloat throughout the last year.
Their thought is that the sooner protections end, the sooner the economy can get back to normal. “We can’t grow the economy if we keep extending these benefits beyond whatever point people see is reasonable,” said Chambers
