Murray Family Farms has been slowly welcoming back the community to the farm, recently opening up their strawberry picking fields and other attractions, but, this means they are in need of some more staff. This is the first time that we have opened up some of the slides and rides and that kind of thing. and people have just been really cooperative and happy when we are open,” Murray said.

Region of Waterloo creates task force to distribute COVID-19 vaccine

  KITCHENER Waterloo region s deputy police chief will lead the region s COVID-19 vaccination distribution, the region announced on Friday morning. According to a news release, deputy Chief Shirley Hilton will lead a task force to ensure an efficient, equitable plan is in place for delivery of the immunization program. We continue to see COVID-19 circulate throughout our community and the creation of this task force is a major milestone in the fight against the virus, said Regional Chair Karen Redman in the release. Public health officials have not said when they expect to receive doses of the vaccine locally, but Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Lauckner said the region has been told to get ready. He said the region is now working in terms of days and weeks, rather than months and years.
