Ashlaa Zuniga Returns To Cedar Hill, As Waxahachie Coach
Ashlaa Zuniga is back home.
Well, almost. She’s coaching in nearby Waxahachie and her team competes against her alma mater Cedar Hill at least twice each basketball season as they are in the same district.
In fact, Zuniga’s Lady Indians will be visiting the Lady Longhorns Friday, Jan. 30 for their first of two District 11-6A meetings this season.
“I love it, my parents still reside in Cedar Hill and it is still near and dear to my heart. It is a surreal feeling walking into the gym as a coach, because I instantly flashback to great memories I had there as a student athlete,” Zuniga said. “Being in the District of Doom is tough, and I believe we have some of the best players as well as some of the best coaches in the state.”

Chloe Bibby was ready to go and wasn t going to let a dashboard light slow her down. That s just how she rolls.
So the 6-foot-1 Australian jumped in her burgundy 2015 Volkswagen Passat packed with all of her possessions and headed out from Starkville, Miss., for a 13-hour, 900-mile trek to College Park. Not that Bibby had ever been to College Park - or D.C. for that matter. But Nugget, her pet fish, was packed up, and it was time to go.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball (5-2, 1-0 Big 12) is slated to play its third Big 12 game of the season Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. (CT) against the No. 21/20 Texas Longhorns (8-2, 2-1 Big 12) in the Frank Erwin Center. The game will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network and can also be heard on the Jayhawks Radio Network with Jimmy Chavez on the call.
The Jayhawks return to the court for the first time since their victory over New Mexico State last month in Allen Fieldhouse. KU earned the 78-59 win over the Aggies behind 14 points by Holly Kersgieter, while four other Jayhawks scored in double figures to end the non-conference slate for KU.
