The project would require the extension of Vassar Street, currently a sleepy dead-end road lined with 20 homes. Patrick Ferguson lives at the end of the current street with his wife, Katey, and two children, ages 7 and 9.

Officials identify man found unresponsive on Vassar Street

Reno Police determined Rivera died as a result of a medical event.  Reno Police Sergeant Laura Conklin could not release any details about the medical event, saying that nothing criminal occurred and that it is up to the family to release additional medical information. She said the case is closed.  Original: A man found unresponsive Saturday near Vassar Street and Holcomb Avenue and later pronounced dead has been identified as 58-year-old Meinrado Rivera, the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner s Office said Monday. Reno Police responded to an incident Saturday morning and found Rivera unresponsive. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
