The only other community to break 36 C was Lucky Lake, where it hit 36.3 C.

As expected, several communities are re-writing the record book when it comes to the daily high. Over 20 places set a record on Thursday for the warmest June 3 on record.
The warmest spot in Saskatchewan was Rosetown at 36.6 degrees.
Regina came close to breaking a record as it officially got to 35.2 degrees with the record being 35.6 in 2019.
While another couple of days of 30 degree weather are upon us, the forecast does call for a cooldown on Sunday with the high in Regina to be in the low 20’s.

Quarantine border imbalance
My snowbird partner and I are “enjoying” our second annual two-week quarantine “staycation” in a rental house in Regina after driving back from Florida and crossing at North Portal, where we were provided with four test kits. We have heard of rented cars, walking the border, helicopters and limos and other crossing schemes.

The border closure policy is bizarre. We entered the U.S. in late October with no quarantine in Florida and were able to continue low risk distanced activity, beach bike, golf and home cooking. We were also delighted to get fully vaccinated in March by public health in north Florida, and tested negative PCR before the recent 3,500 km dash north.

Limit flags being flown at government buildings
The provincial government should mandate that all publicly funded buildings should only be allowed to fly two flags the Canadian flag and the Saskatchewan flag. The only exception would be flying the flag of an official dignitary from a foreign country visiting the legislature. The flag would only fly during the duration of the visit and only at the Legislative Building. This is what is done world wide as a show of respect.
