Washington gov mandates critical race training K-12 - a systemic racist program

“The legislature plans to continue the important work of dismantling institutional racism in public schools and recognizes the importance of increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, antiracism, and cultural competency training throughout the entire public school system….” The speed at which this evil anti-American program, Critical Race Theory, is infiltrating our school systems, businesses, and the government is terrifying. It will destroy the nation. The fact that the program will destroy young minds is the most devastating aspect of this. Voting in dictatorial, foolish, and corrupt politicians comes with a cost. Take Washington State for example. THE LATEST INFILTRATION Washington Governor Inslee signed a bill requiring Critical Race Training for public school teachers.

Lawmakers are not finished with the Employment Security Department yet

BLOG As the Washington Policy Center has highlighted over the last year, the Employment Security Department (ESD) has been unable to correct the fundamental issues plaguing the department. While some improvements have been made, claimants are still seeing long wait times, adjudication delays and delayed payments. Interim Deputy Commissioner Phil Castle, who took over leadership of ESD from Commissioner Suzi Levine earlier this year, apologized in a hearing last week to legislators, who are frustrated with the departments lack of progress. Last spring, ESD systems were overwhelmed with a significant increase in benefit claims, which allowed Nigerian scammers and other individuals to take advantage of an inadequate benefit claimant identity verification process and steal at least $650 million in benefits from the public.

Diaper stipend didn t make Washington budget, but diaper banks and cash assistance did

Diaper stipend didn’t make Washington budget, but diaper banks and cash assistance did By Daniel Beekman, , The Seattle Times (TNS), Published: April 28, 2021, 8:34am Share: Apr. 28 Washington state lawmakers didn’t include a stipend for low-income parents to buy diapers in the new, two-year budget they approved over the weekend. But the Legislature did include more than $50 million to boost cash assistance for families in need, plus $5 million for nonprofits that distribute donated diapers, funding the so-called “diaper banks” directly for the first time. Assuming Gov. Jay Inslee signs off, that means many low-income households will get more help with diapers and other basics, said Liz Olson, senior policy analyst at the Washington State Budget and Policy Center, a left-leaning think tank.

Court battle over newly-passed capital gains tax could rewrite Washington s tax code

(Photo by Tim Boyle/Getty Images) The Washington Legislature approved a 7% capital gains tax over the weekend, setting the stage for what’s sure to be drawn-out court battle over whether or not the tax is legal under the state’s constitution. SB 5096 would impose a 7% tax on capital gains above $250,000 for all to bring in an estimated $415 million in 2023, its first year. The text of the bill describes it as an excise tax on the sale of stocks, bonds, and other assets above $250,000, excepting real estate and family-owned small businesses. While supporters of the bill have touted it as a necessary step toward balancing Washington’s tax code, opponents have argued that it’s a poorly-disguised income tax, and as such, isn’t legal.
