Analysis of dozens of videos taken at the storming of the U.S. Capitol building shows how the mob gained access and how far they made it inside.

January 6 represented a massive failure to protect the United States Capitol, as throngs of Trump supporters streamed into the building after they forced Capitol Police to retreat. This video tracks the movements of extremists through the Capitol and shows how they were able to access restricted parts of the building after breaking windows and busting through entryways.

Analyst Malcolm Nance has slammed the events on Capitol Hill as an absolute disaster security-wise.” Video footage shows thousands of Donald Trump supporters storming the building and fighting police. Mr Nance told talkRADIO host Ian Collins that “ISIS now has a blueprint for attacking the United States Capitol.”

As they watched people smash into the US Capitol, some in Africa could not help but see a little irony in the chaos after US President Donald Trump once called African nations “shitholes.”
Others across the continent offered Washington some tips on how run a democracy advice that has so often gone in the other direction.
