The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation manager Christopher Floyd brought an opportunity regarding Backcounty Discovery Routes (BDR) to the attention of the Bighorn Basin Outdoor Recreation Collaborative (BBORC) at a recent meeting. The proposed route includes a portion of Big Horn County.
BDR is a non-profit organization that creates off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. They have introduced a new route with free GPS tracks for the community every year since 2010.
Floyd noted that BDR has maps for the surrounding states of Idaho, Colorado and Utah but nothing for Wyoming. He feels this is a great economic development opportunity for Wyoming and Big Horn County.
Wyoming's first visitors in 2021 found the cost of lodging had increased from 2020, with a new lodging tax that went into effect Jan. 1. Turkish law enforcements raided Sezgin Baran Korkmaz’ (SBK) houses and offices as part of an operation conducted by Istanbul’s anti-terror and organised crime units last week.
Korkmaz’s business partners, Jacob and Isaiah Kingston (also known as the Mormon Crime Brothers), pled guilty of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government and are still in prison while Korkmaz is now a part of a money laundering investigation in Turkey. There is no sign of cooperation between U.S. and Turkish authorities on this latest operation.
So far a Turkish court has ordered the arrest of one businessman who is known to be close to SBK, and another 10 people who were detained a day earlier from the same company but later released. SBK, in a video message from his LindkedIN account said he will return Turkey in a few weeks after he takes care of his business dealings in Luxembourg where he currently is visiting and getting ready to open a hotel in Switzer

Prosecutors in Turkey have issued an arrest and detention warrant for a Turkish businessman tied to a tax credit and money-laundering scheme conducted from the United States. The warrant was issued for Sezgin Baran Korkmaz yesterday.
The move follows a joint investigation by Turkey s tax auditing and financial crimes investigation authorities into the $132 million money laundering scheme. Nineteen directors of companies owned by Korkmaz were also issued with warrants; ten have been detained for interrogation in Istanbul and three other cities.
