Hello, EOBI! - Newspaper - DAWN COM

IN 2016, the management and disbursement of pension was transferred by the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) from the National Bank of Pakistan to Bank Alfalah. The latter bank issued ATM cards to the pensioners which were valid for five years. The system has been running smoothly since then. As the respective dates of existing cards are expiring, Bank Alfalah has promptly mailed the new cards at the respective residential addresses of the pensioners, which require activation. Being a pensioner, I have received on my phone the following message from EOBI in Urdu three times over the last one month: “Respected pensioner. According to our record, your new EOBI card has been delivered. If you have got the card, have it activated. If you have not received the card, contact your branch. Please have your card activated immediately. For further information, call 021-111-225-229”.
