Updated: 3:18 AM EDT May 28, 2021 COLUMBUS, Ohio The pool season is back for Central Ohio communities. But, the pandemic still lingers.   A lot of pools around the community are desperate for staffing according to Sarah Pena, the aquatics manager at Lifetime Fitness in Dublin.   Pena said that because pools closed last year,  many lifeguards let their certifications lapse. This year many are just not getting back into the business.

But as of last Friday, that mandate has loosened, at least for vaccinated people. Gov. Mike DeWine announced that fully vaccinated Ohioans wouldn’t be required to wear a mask unless they are in certain crowded indoor settings after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated people don’t have to wear masks outside or in most indoor spaces.
