CSRWire - Hold Us Accountable! Driving Down Carbon One Product at a Time

Hold Us Accountable! Driving Down Carbon One Product at a Time Published 5 hours ago Submitted by Logitech Back in June of 2020, we announced an industry-first carbon transparency effort to include detailed carbon impact transparency labeling on all product packaging across our entire portfolio. Like nutrition labels on food packaging, we believe that consumers should be empowered and informed about the impact of their purchasing decisions.   Today on Earth Day,  we are excited to report that the Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is the first Logitech product to feature this new carbon impact label and is now available in stores. Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is one of seven gaming products with carbon impact labels rolling out in this quarter, to feature a number at the top of the label to indicate the product’s full lifecycle carbon footprint in kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kg CO2e) taking a typical two year use period, 7.84 kg CO2e being the meas

SEA-LNG Warns against Delay in Addressing Shipping Decarbonisation – Advanced BioFuels USA

(SEA-LNG) Industry coalition stresses that LNG fuels reduce up to 23% of GHG emissions, and that bio- and synthetic LNG offer low risk, incremental pathways to net zero. Waiting for future fuels and not fully utilising LNG, which is safe, proven, competitive and available today, is a mistake.  We need to take advantage  today of the confirmed reduction in GHG of up to 23% (Well-to-Wake) and the obvious air quality benefits of LNG as a maritime fuel. To continue to wait for unproven alternatives only makes the current GHG and local emissions problems worse. The World Bank’s recent report, ‘The Role of LNG in the Transition Toward Low- and Zero-Carbon Shipping’ attempts to prescribe solutions and predict the timing of future technology development. SEA-LNG believes strongly that the transition to future fuels must not follow this prescriptive approach. It is far too early to decide what the real potential of various alternatives fuels will be for a highly complex, hard-to-

Indian Register of Shipping marine biofuels trials successful : Biofuels Digest

In a bid to move towards reducing Greenhouse Gases (GHGs), the trials were carried out and the emission levels for CO2 and NOx at both ballast and loaded voyages were monitored during the trial period. The results of the trials were found to be satisfactory. The biodiesel blend (B20) was in compliance with Marpol Annex VI (Reg.14) sulphur content requirements and met SOLAS (Ch. II-2/Reg.4.2.1) in terms of flash point requirements. No increase of NOx was observed with biodiesel blend as compared to LSHSD, rather the emission level was found to be less. Though the reduction in CO2 were found to be around 7 percent, the total life cycle reduction of CO2 by Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) was measured to be around 21% as the biodiesel from Soya extract had a reduction of life cycle GHG emissions by 70%.

Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) undertakes successful sea trials for pioneer batch of vessels in India to use biofuel

Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has undertaken successful sea trials for two vessels towards use of biofuels in concurrence with the Indian flag administration. The two vessels – Ambuja Mukund and Ambuja Vaibhav, are owned by Ambuja Cements Ltd., which is a part of the global conglomerate Lafarge Holcim, a leader in building solutions. In .
