Leominster facility may be fined by OSHA for alleged COVID violations

Life Care Center of Leominster may be fined by the federal government for alleged coronavirus-related violations.  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $13,494 in penalties, which the agency said the company is contesting.  The nursing home, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility at 370 West St. is part of the Tennessee-based Life Care Centers of America. Company responds Although there were OSHA citations regarding technical compliance, none of the citations were due to the availability of [personal protection equipment], or the providing of PPE to our associates, the statement reads. The statement adds, In a time when every minute mattered, we quickly provided our associates with N95 masks and other PPE to protect themselves and our residents. As supply chains stabilized, we completed fit testing and evaluations. On the frontlines of a pandemic, getting PPE in the hands of associates is and will continue to be our first priority.
