Works on Pacific Highway this week may impact motorists

Transport for NSW confirmed from Monday, there will be up to five days of work next to the Pacific Highway at Coolgardie, to carry out landscaping. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 7am and 6pm. Also from Monday, there will be up to six days of work on the Pacific Highway between Woodburn and Mororo for hauling and to carry out finishing work and install cycle rails on bridges.

This morning and this afternoon, it s taken more than 45 minutes to drive up Clifford St to leave Suffolk Park, while a single crossing of Jonson St could take up to 1.5 hours this afternoon. Rain that started after 4.30pm contributed to the sheer number of cars on the streets, with registration plates from all across the country.     A spokeswoman for Live Traffic NSW confirmed slow traffic was recorded in town but was not caused by traffic incidents, roadworks or accidents.

Traffic changes on motorway at Tugun tunnel this week

Premium Content Subscriber only TRAFFIC conditions will change on the Pacific Motorway at the Tugun tunnel on Tuesday night, while additional amenities are set up for the Queensland border check point. Northbound lanes will be closed from 8pm AEDT, Tuesday December 29, to 5am AEDT Wednesday, December 30, weather permitting. Traffic will be diverted onto the Gold Coast Highway. Southbound lanes will be closed from 11pm AEDT Tuesday, December 29, to 1am AEDT Wednesday, December 30, weather permitting. Traffic will be diverted onto Stewart Road and the Gold Coast Highway. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.
