On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a pause on using the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine while they review several cases of blood clotting  out of an abundance of caution. Six women, ages 18 to 48, out of over 6.8 million doses administered in the U.S. experienced a rare and severe type of blood clot cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.
