The robots will record audio and video data and notify the manning authorities on anomalies. Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Friday received three pilot smart “anti-epidemic” robots from the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) Kenya to support the government’s mitigation measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The United Nation Development Program (UNDP) has responded to concerns raised by Tourism CS Najib Balala over an advertisement it ran in the local dailies. The published notice included a section that implied a call for proposal by UNDP would allow participants to consume endangered wildlife.  As a result, The East African Wildlife Society Executive Director Nancy Ogonje wrote a protest letter to Balala who in turn sought clarification from UNDP.

This was revealed by Walid Badawi, the resident representative at UNDP Kenya, on Wednesday at the unveiling of the UN s annual Human Development Report 2020 titled The next frontier: Human Development and the Anthropocene . The report analyses how humans impact the planet and how that interacts with existing inequalities.
