Blue Zones Walla Walla
January 10, 2021
The Walla Walla University Center for Humanitarian Engagement (CHE) is pleased to announce that it will participate in a community health initiative, the Blue Zones Project Walla Walla Valley, which was announced earlier this month by Adventist Health and which includes several other participants in the local community.
The Blue Zones approach to improving the health of every individual in our community will help to increase opportunities for healthful choices in our valley, such as moving our bodies more, creating healthy social networks, and eating more plant-based foods, among others. Other Blue Zones projects in more than 50 communities across the United States have been credited with improvements in health risk factors, such as obesity and smoking, that are known to affect individual well-being.
