Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], January 7 (ANI): Raising concern over attacks on temples in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) delegation met with Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan on Thursday and asked for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in this matter.

In a memorandum to Governor, it sees need for ensuring religious harmony in the State
The TDP has urged Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan to order a CBI inquiry into the series of attacks on Hindu temples in the State.
The TDP team, comprising Polit Bureau member Varla Ramaiah, former MLAs D. Narendra and Sravan Kumar, and MLC Buddha Venkanna, met the Governor here on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to him in this regard.

TDP national General Secretary and Polit Bureau member Varla Ramaiah on Saturday accused DGP D. Gautam Sawang of dancing to the YSR Congress Party tunes.
At a press conference here, Mr. Ramaiah alleged that Mr. Sawang had ‘designed’ the YSRCP leader Vijaya Sai Reddy’s visit to Ramateertham temple as a ‘counter’ to TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to the place. He said the Ramateertham incident was yet another example of ‘total breakdown of law and order’ in the State.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has urged the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) to send a delegation to the State for and enquiry into attacks against Dalits.
In a letter to NCSC Chairperson Ram Shankar Katheria on Wednesday, TDP Politburo member Varla Ramaiah said the TDP had regularly updated the NCSC about attacks against Dalits.

Ongoing agitation opposing three capitals completes one year on Dec. 17
An all-party meeting jointly convened by the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Rythu Aikya Karyacharana Samithi (United Farmers’ Action Committee) on Thursday resolved to scale up the ongoing agitation in support of Amaravati as the sole capital of the State into a mass movement.
