A man has been charged with the murder of a baby boy.
West Midlands Police said the three-month-old boy was found by paramedics in cardiac arrest at a home in Stoke, Coventry, on 29 June 2018.
He had suffered a catastrophic head injury and was pronounced dead two days later in hospital, the force added.
James Scott, 30, who police say knew the child, appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court and is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday.
Police said Scott, from Coventry, was arrested at the time but released under investigation while complex and extensive enquiries were carried out .

A driver has been SPARED jail after killing an 11-year-old girl in the West Midlands.
Toyota driver Ola Onubogu hit Isabelle Boshell, aged 11, in Tamworth Road, Keresley, in Coventry.
Isabelle died four days later, with Obubogu avoiding jail this week.
A wealthy company director has been jailed and his wife fined more than £1,300 for pushing a cyclist off an electric bike because he was riding too fast in a country park.
Paul Oliver, 49, and wife Sarah, 45, were walking their dogs through Kenilworth Greenway Country Park in Warwickshire when Jaroslaw Zachwieja rode past them at around 12mph (20kmh).
Mr Oliver shouted at the rider, telling him to Slow the f down after he came within a few feet of them.
When Mr Zachwieja cycled towards them again minutes later, Mr Oliver shoved him off the bike then grabbed him by his shoulders and lifted him off the ground before pushing him back down.
