FOREST CITY, Iowa - It s been an up and down year for college and university students, from some classes being held in-person or strictly online or through Zoom, to crowd limitations at sporting events and quarantining if one came in contact with the coronavirus.
Now, graduation season is upon us. For this year s graduating class at Waldorf University, a mother and daughter are set to walk the stage on Saturday and receive their degrees.

REQUIREMENTS
Participants must bring a laptop with access to a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, or Google Docs.

On Sunday former tennis coach, and brother of athletic director and football coach Rick Willis, Jim Willis died after a battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Jim was only 49. Willis was the men’s and women’s tennis coach from 2002-2007. He was also extremely active in the Waverly community. Jim leaves behind his wife Nicole and three children: Luke, Brooke and Brady.
Monday legendary Wartburg basketball coach Lewis “Buzz” Levick died at the age of 94. Levick was the basketball coach from 1965 to 1993 and amassed 510 wins and 14 conference titles. The Wartburg arena is named Buzz Levick Arena in his honor. He leaves behind his wife of 74 years Miriam.
The American Rivers Conference announced its weekly honors with Wartburg College represented with three awards, including the Male and Female Athletes of the Week in Joe Freiburger and Joy Smith.
The Wartburg women’s soccer team swept the conference weekly awards, with Joy Smith named the Offensive Player of the Week and Hailey Osburn collecting Defensive Player of the Week laurels.
