Varanasi: An audio clip exposing involvement of cops posted at Kandwa police station in Chandauli district in facilitating liquor smugglers to cross border for entering Bihar, a dry state, with liquor consignments went viral and resulted in suspension of two police constables while 20 others were attached to police lines.
SP Chandauli Amit Kumar raided the Kandwa police station on Friday night, paraded all the staff. After questioning the entire staff of police station and collecting information, the SP ordered suspension of two constables and attached 20 others to police lines for fair investigation.
Talking to TOI on Saturday, Kumar said, “CO Naugarh has been asked to probe the matter and submit report within 15 days. Further action would be taken accordingly.”
Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said One District One Product (ODOP) scheme is the basis of self-sufficiency and the traditional enterprises associated with it contributed most to the state economy, after agriculture, during pandemic.
“Government is making efforts for making the poor, farmers, women and youth self-reliant. PM Modi wants India to become $5 trillion economy for which we will have to make Uttar Pradesh $1 trillion economy,” CM Yogi said while addressing people during a mega loan distribution camp at Mahant Digvijaynath park in Taramandal area on Thursday evening.
There is full guarantee of employment in low capital MSMEs through ODOP in the state, he added.
Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that skill development centres will be opened in the HURL fertiliser factory in Gorakhpur to train youth for employment.
Talking to reporters after factory inspection, the CM said a huge investment of Rs 8,000 crore in the modern plant shows PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India.
“No one expected a new plant in place of the compost factory that was closed for 26 years, but this has been made possible by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The supply of fertilisers was not interrupted during the pandemic, which is a huge achievement,” Yogi added.

BALLIA: A government primary school principal in Jaidopur here was suspended over the death of a student, possibly after choking on a fruit seed, officials said on Thursday.
The 5-year-old girl s family, however, claim that she had died after eating khichdi served at the mid-day meal in the school. Gunjan (5) had reached school on Wednesday and had brought some jujube (ber) from home. After she consumed them, the fruit seed got stuck in her throat and she fell unconscious and later died, district magistrate Aditi Singh said quoting a probe report of the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA).
