KIEV, May 27 (Xinhua) A two-day training session of the Passing Exercise (PASSEX) joint ship-and-boat tactical group of the Ukrainian and British navies took place in the northwestern waters of the Black Sea, the press service of Ukraine s Ministry of Defense reported Thursday.
During the naval drills, a group of ships and motorboats practiced maneuvering in lines and orders, along with air defense drills, repelling attacks from the high-speed, small-sized floating craft of a simulated enemy. The constant participation of the Ukrainian navy in PASSEX-type training provides an opportunity to improve skills, maritime training, exchange of experience and master NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) standards, said Rear Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On Saturday, Virgin Galactic completed its third spaceflight and the first from its new launch location outside White Sands National Park in New Mexico.
VSS Unity, the name given to Virgin Galactic s second spaceplane, took off bolted to Virgin s mothership VMS Eve. After release, it hit Mach 3 and an apogee of 55.45 miles (89km) before its descent and runway landing.

Virgin Galactic completed its third successful launch into outer space Saturday in New Mexico, according to the company, which aspires to become the first-ever commercial space line. The spacecraft, named VSS Unity, was the first completed flight from Virgin Galactic in over two years. Space travel is a bold and adventurous endeavor, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Galactic Michael Colglazier said in a statement. I am incredibly proud of our talented team for making the dream of private space travel a reality.
VSS Unity which carried astronauts CJ Sturckow and Dave Mackay was brought up to an altitude of 55.45 miles by aircraft VMS Eve, which was piloted by Kelly Latimer and Michael Masucci. Saturday s trip made Sturckow the first person to ever have flown to space from three different states and made New Mexico the third U.S. state to launch humans into outer space.
