OGDCL discovers gas reserves December 25, 2020 KARACHI: The joint venture of Baratai Block, comprising Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) as operator (97.5 percent) and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) (2.5 percent) has discovered gas and condensate from its Exploratory Well Saib-1, which is located in Kohat district, a statement said on Thursday. The structure of Siab-I was drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in-house expertise. The well was drilled down to the depth of 5,500 meters based on open hole logs data. The well was tested at the rate of 1.6MMSCFD of gas and 12bpd of condensate through 32/64” choke at well head flowing pressure of 190 pounds per square inch (Psi) from SamanaSuk Formation, it said.

KARACHI: The Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) announced on Wednesday that the joint venture of Baratai Block comprising OGDC as operator (97.5 per cent) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil & Gas Company Limited (2.5pc) has discovered gas and condensate from its exploratory well Siab-1 located in District Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The company said that the structure of Siab-1 was drilled and tested using OGDC’s in-house expertise. The well was drilled down to the depth of 5,500 meters. Based on open hole logs data, the well was tested at rate of 1.6m standard cubic feet per day of gas and 12 barrels per day condensate through 32/64” choke at well-head flowing pressure of 190 pounds per square inch from Samanasuk Formation.

OGDC finds fresh oil, gas reserves in K-P Tests show 1.6 mmscfd of gas and 12 bpd of condensate in Siab-1 well Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) on Wednesday announced discovery of new oil and gas deposits in two different wells located in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Tests conducted by the exploration firm showed 1.6 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 12 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate in exploratory well Siab-1 from Samanasuk Formation, the company said in a notification sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Besides, tests showed 4.18 mmscfd of gas and 32 bpd of condensate in a zone in the Lumshiwal/ Hangu formation, according to the notification.
