The Pentagon announced it will halt plan to vaccinate Guantanamo Bay inmates
The Pentagon on Saturday announced that it was pausing a plan to give COVID-19 vaccinations at Guantanamo Bay after accusations from Republicans and 9/11 survivors that it was prioritizing terror suspects over Americans. No Guantanamo detainees have been vaccinated, Defense Department Press Secretary John Kirby tweeted. We’re pausing the plan to move forward, as we review force protection protocols. We remain committed to our obligations to keep our troops safe.
Two defense officials had confirmed to Fox News the plan to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to the 40 detainees at the detention site in Cuba. A lack of vaccinations had reportedly made it difficult for federal prosecutors to move forward with war crimes hearings at the base.
Ava and Lily Weinstein tell ‘Fox and Friends Weekend’ they created a service to help seniors sign up for COVID-19 vaccine after assisting their own grandparents.
Republicans reacted with anger to the plan by the Pentagon to give COVID-19 vaccines to prisoners at Guantanamo Bay including accused 9/11 ringleader Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
The U.S. military will offer coronavirus vaccines to the 40 detainees at Gitmo, two U.S. defense officials confirmed to Fox News this week.
On Saturday, however, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said it was pausing the plan to move forward, as we review force protection protocols. It is inexcusable and un-American that President Biden is choosing to prioritize vaccinations for convicted terrorists in Gitmo over vulnerable American seniors or veterans, Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, said prior to Kirby s announcement.

Heroes of 9/11 are expressing outrage over reports of the Biden administration moving to offer coronavirus vaccines to suspected terrorists residing in the U.S. military prison in Guantánamo Bay, calling the move “disgusting” and “fucking nuts.”
A Department of Defense confirmed this week that Gitmo detainees and prisoners will be offered vaccines on a voluntary basis. According to the
New York Times‘s Thursday report, vaccinations may begin as early as Monday.
“It will be administered on a voluntary basis and in accordance with the Department’s priority distribution plan,” spokesman Michael Howard said, according to the
New York Post: “The order was signed on Jan. 27 by Terry Adirim, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs who was sworn in as a Biden appointee on Inauguration Day, a Pentagon spokesman confirmed.”
Update: Defense Department Press Secretary John Kirby deceptively said the Pentagon paused the plan to vaccinate the terrorists. The Pentagon claims they were having difficulty setting up war crimes hearings because the terrorists weren’t vaccinated. They will vaccinate them on a voluntary basis according to priorities. They are reviewing it but it looks like they will still vaccinate them before other Americans.
The Biden administration is giving the Covid-19 vaccine to Gitmo detainees before most Americans get the shot. The media is completely uninterested.
TERRORISTS FIRST, AMERICANS LAST
The vaccine is very slow in coming in the United States, but, just the same, murderous terrorists will get it imminently – next week.
