Days ahead of Easter and two weeks before Ramadan, the World Health Organization has cautioned against crowded indoor celebrations that could trigger a fresh surge in coronavirus infections. In countries experiencing widespread community transmission of the virus, virtual meetings, postponing or reducing such gatherings should be seriously considered, said a WHO statement. Regardless of location, any religious service should be held outdoors wherever possible or be limited in size and duration, with physical distancing, ventilation, hand hygiene and mask use, as appropriate, it added.
Better would be for people to mark the festivals with those they lived with and avoid meeting others especially if feeling unwell or in isolation or quarantine, it said.

The Bloemfontein-based Supreme Court of Appeals (SCA) in the Free State has set aside and declared as unconstitutional and unlawful the ANC s provincial conference which was held in May 2018.
This is where MEC for Roads and Transport, Sam Mashini, was elected as the chairperson of the party; and Agriculture MEC William Bulwana as his deputy.
A disgruntled group of ANC members took the matter to the SCA after a High Court judge dismissed its bid to have the elected structure declared illegal and unconstitutional in 2018. On Wednesday, the SCA upheld the leave to appeal the bid with costs and said the provincial conference was held in violation of a court order of 29 November 2017.
